My work at Dell
In November 2022 I was hired as a UX Writer for the Dell Design System, a catalog of design assets used for internal and external Dell projects. The goal of the system is to standardize Dell’s look, promote accessibility, and make it as easy as possible for Dell’s designers and developers to work on their projects.
My role was as a UX Writer on the Generative Content Team. I also worked very closely with the Data Visualization team to create design documentation for designers and front end developers. I provided copy recommendations, edited technical documentation, wrote design documentation, discussed information architecture strategy, and collaborated with an international team of project managers, developers, designers, and writers.
I worked on an Agile team using Jira and Confluence, and the majority of my writing work was completed in Figma (which I’ve used in other roles as well) and the Microsoft Teams suite.
While my role at Dell was cut short due to economic downturn and the termination of contingent worker contracts, I learned a lot from the company and am grateful for my time there.
